Release
Batman: Arkham Trilogy was planned to release in October 13, 2023, but days before it released, it was delayed to December 1, 2023[1]. It was also playable from launch day for the Nintendo Switch 2, as it was backwards compatible with the console.
Reception
Before Batman: Arkham Trilogy released, people were already skeptical regarding the performance of the games, especially Batman: Arkham Knight, for a small handheld console like the Nintendo Switch, since the game ran on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch had inferior power than those.
When the bundle released, the reception for the Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City versions included in the bundle were good, praised for it maintaining the visuals of the original PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC release, as well as having a great performance on the handheld console. On the contrary, Batman: Arkham Knight didn't do so well, as people immediately noticed that it had significantly reduced visuals and poor performance, but even worse, softlocks and constant crashes that prevented people from playing or completing the game. In response, they released continuous patches until February 2024, fixing the progression softlocks as well as other visual issues.
