}}</ref>
Parameters
- interviewee
- The person being interviewed.
- title
- The title of the interview, article, or video.
- interviewer
- The interviewer or author conducting the interview.
- publication
- The website, magazine, channel, newspaper, or other publication that released the interview.
- date
- The publication date.
- url
- The original URL.
- archive-url
- An archived copy of the original source.
- access-date
- The date the source was accessed.
- timestamp
- The timestamp of the relevant statement when citing a video or audio interview.
Original sources
Whenever possible, cite the original publication of an interview rather than a later article, wiki page, forum post, or video discussing it.
For example, prefer:
<ref>{{Cite interview
| interviewee = Developer Name
| title = Original interview title
| publication = Original publication
| date = 2013
| url = ORIGINAL_URL
}}</ref>
rather than:
<ref>A fan wiki says the developer confirmed this.</ref>
Archived interviews
If the original page is no longer online, use an archived copy:
<ref>{{Cite interview
| interviewee = Developer Name
| title = Interview title
| publication = Publication Name
| date = 2013
| url = https://original.example/interview
| archive-url = https://web.archive.org/example
}}</ref>
Keep the original URL when known, even if it is dead. This helps preserve the history of the source and makes it easier to verify the archive.
Video interviews
For video or audio interviews, provide a timestamp when possible:
<ref>{{Cite interview
| interviewee = Developer Name
| title = Batman: Arkham Origins Developer Interview
| publication = Example Channel
| date = 2013
| url = https://example.com/video
| timestamp = 12:34
}}</ref>
If a specific statement is important to a continuity claim, a timestamp is strongly recommended.
Attribution
An interview citation does not automatically turn a developer's statement into an in-universe fact.
For example:
Eric Holmes stated in an interview that ...<ref>{{Cite interview
| interviewee = Eric Holmes
| title = ...
}}</ref>
is preferable to:
It is canon that ...
unless released material independently establishes the claim.
See Arkham Wiki:Canon policy and Arkham Wiki:Sourcing policy.
